She's Here!!

Little Miss Hannah Melinda arrived at 11:43am today (Sunday). She weighted in at an even 8 lbs. and measured 21 inches. Mom (that'd be me) and baby are doing just fine. Thank you all for your prayers!! They were greatly appreciated.

I'll post some details for you gossip hounds later.... like Monday or Tuesday. For now, little miss is sleeping & I'm getting ready to eat & sleep too.

G'night all!! |-]

Oh... here's a pic of her... and her big brother. This is the first time he'd seen her. He's admiring her nose--proof she's the same species as him! (We'll have to explain that men and women are different species later! :-D)

And if you're wondering why I'm the one posting when it's still Sunday, we had Little Miss here at home.... and the computer's nearby. :-)

Update...

No, still not yet. Had a good visit with the midwives Thursday. If the baby isn't here by Monday, I get to call my primary care physician to schedule an ultrasound... just to take a look-see and make sure everything is in order. So... we're all praying she decides to come this weekend. Y'all could join in those prayers iffen you'd like. They'll be appreciated! :-)

An article to go read....

This is an interesting article... I think.... By which I mean I think it's interesting, rather than I think it's interesting. Confused?

And this is the line that struck me while I was reading it, with a bit of preceding text for context:

The world you live in—your nation, your people—is not the world you were born in at all. The forms are all there, all untouched, all reassuring, the houses, the shops, the jobs, the mealtimes, the visits, the concerts, the cinema, the holidays. But the spirit, which you never noticed because you made the lifelong mistake of identifying it with the forms, is changed.

Thoughts??

Spam...

OK, so this post has nothing personal to do with any of you... I have an aunt who forwards EVERYTHING that comes to her..... Anyway, thought this was cute (and original).

ODE TO SPAM
By Mary Egidio, Lakeland, FL

I do not want to read your spam.
I do not want it, Sam I Am.

I do not want to read your jokes.
That virus warning? It's a hoax!

Don't send me tests I must complete,
Or cutesy poems that are sweet.

I get enough of spam, I do.
I hate to see it come from you.

Spam offers drugs to make me stronger,
Or make some part of me grow longer.

So, when a joke or tale you see,
Please, please don't hit that forward key.

Instead, why don't you drop a line?
How are your kids? Is your life fine?

How can I pray for you today?
Read a good book or seen a play?

What victories can you report?
I'd love to read it - long or short!

I'll be so glad you didn't spam.
Thank you, thank you, Sam I Am.

Now, isn't that a nice way of putting it??

Confession is good for the soul.

We've settled. Well, settled sounds like we're not happy with our choice--we are. OK, so how about cemented?

The parent peoples have made up their minds on the name of the little one-to-come. Provided she comes out as a girl (ultrasounds have been known to be wrong before), her name will be .............. drum roll please ............

Hannah Melinda

So.... now you know. Many thanks to all of you who contributed name suggestions. I still like Bart, but I think her dad would object!
